How to Draw an Old Car
This tutorial is about how to draw an old car. Step by step with just a pencil, an eraser, and a piece of paper.

Surely you are interested in how to draw an old car. It’s easy. Take, for example, a typical European car from the late 70s and early 80s.

How to draw an old car
- Draw the body.
To get started, just draw the outlines of the body. This will be your base. Use straight, strong lines. Don’t try to make the outline look perfect yet.
- Make the correct body shape.
In this step, you will need to erase, to correct the shape of the vehicle. Here we shape the outlines of the front and rear bumpers and the underside of the car.
- Draw the windows.
Next, depict the windows of the old car. Sketch the windshield. Mainly use straight lines. Unlike modern sedans, in older cars, the window frame was generally taller.
- Add some elements to the old car.
Draw two car doors as well as decorative moldings on them and the windows. The lines at this stage should be as even and straight as possible.
- Add details.
Now you should draw the door handles, the round door lock hatch, the vintage rearview mirror, and the air intake on the rear roof pillar of the car.
- Add more details.
In this step, draw lines for the bumper moldings and wheel arches. Also, depict a straight line for the front fender of the old car.

Next, outline the textured lines of the body on the rest of the old car. Take a look at our example. You can also add some additional decorative elements.
- Draw the wheels.
Next, draw two wheels using circles of different diameters. These will be the tires and rims of the car. Try to keep the wheels as round as possible.
- Detail the rims.
In this step, sketch out the details of the rims. Start drawing the center hole of the rims. Also, mark the holes to lighten the weight of the rim.
- Add the shadows.
The final stage. Add the shadows to the picture. Take a look at our example and sketch out the required vehicle volume.
