How to Draw a Train for Kids
- Draw the outer contours of each part of the train.
At the beginning of the drawing the outer contour of the locomotive and behind it draw two identical cars in the form of rectangles.
- Depict the top and bottom parts.
At the top and bottom of each element of the train, draw long narrow strips that have rounded ends.
- Sketch out the wheels.
Draw several even circles to depict the outer and inner contours of each wheel. Please note that on the locomotive one of the wheels has a larger size.
- Add the windows.
The windows are rectangular with rounded corners. Draw one window on the locomotive and draw three identical windows on each car.
- Add the rest of the elements.
In this step, you will add small elements on the roof and on the body of the locomotive. Also draw connecting lines between the cars and add a strip between the two wheels of the locomotive.
- Detail the surface of the train.
Draw several even horizontal lines on the surface of all the cars. Add a small element to the front of the locomotive.
- Correct inaccuracies.
Compare your drawing with our example and if you notice any mistakes, correct them at this stage.
- Color the drawing.
Use red, gray, black and different shades of blue to color the different parts of the train.
